Dear Friends of Bloody Point, We've been taking advantage of this slow season on Daufuskie to plan lots of exciting things for the Spring and Summer! We have all the ingredients to make your trip to Daufuskie one to remember. Now, with a full year and half under our belt, we're planning to be even bigger and better than ever before. Here is what we have in store for you: Amenities Update: The Golf Course is open and is improving every day! Our Grand Opening will take place on Memorial Day Weekend, which will give the course one more full season to reach peak conditions. Thanks to the early spring and lots of rain, we should be in tip-top shape sooner than anyone could have accepted. Helipad proposed on Daufuskie Island

The proposal involves removing trees and other growth in a roughly 250-foot by 250-foot area to allow a medical helicopter to transport seriously injured people from the island. "They want an area adjacent to the fire station for the purpose of medical evacuation if it's needed," said county planning director Anthony Criscitello. "They would clear an area so that a helicopter could land and take off if necessary." No new construction is planned for the site.
