Fire House Day on Daufuskie Island
Bring the kids to learn more about safety and how the fire station works. The Daufuskie Island Fire District is hosting a Kids Day at the Fire Station on Tuesday, July 31 from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM. Everyone is welcome. Not just kids but parents and grandparents, too! Here's a chance to try on firefighting bunker gear. Handle the tools. Feel the weight of the hose and the rushing water. And run the sirens and whirling lights! See the firefighters display the features of the different emergency vehicles. And the EMS crew show just what's inside the ambulances and the medical equipment they carry. To top it off, join us for "Firehouse Fidos", our complimentary hot dog lunch with all the extras.
